Sonoma County is a diverse wonderland of wine, hospitality and agriculture with more mountains, valleys, rivers, and coastline than any other wine region in California. It offers an almost unlimited range of microclimates, growing conditions, and more soil types than all of France, making it unparalleled among the world’s premium winegrowing regions. Within 19 different growing regions, known as American Viticulture Areas (AVAs), we grow more than 100 grape varieties that are crafted into distinct wines that showcase our region and the multi-generational farmers who steward it.
Sonoma County is just 45 minutes north of San Francisco and home to over 495 wineries. From the highly regarded Chardonnay and Pinot Noir of the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast to the dense flavorful Zinfandel of Dry Creek Valley to the distinctive, approachable Cabernet Sauvignon of Alexander Valley and Sonoma Valley, Sonoma County truly offers a wine for everyone and every occasion.
Come for the wine, agriculture, and the beauty of our vineyards, but stay for world class cuisine, farmers markets, incredible redwoods, the Russian River, spas, hiking, shopping and more.
